Mary Sands Woodbury (pen name Clara Hume) was born in Louisville, Kentucky, lived most of her life in the U.S., and currently lives in Nova Scotia. After obtaining degrees in English and anthropology from Purdue University in 1993, Mary began her career as an editor and writer, starting with Prentice-Hall (Macmillan) in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mary runs Dragonfly.eco, which began August 10, 2013. The site explores eco-fiction around the world. She has written articles for Climate Cultures, SFFWorld.com, Free Word Centre, and Artists & Climate Change.
