Caroline Macrory

Caroline (better known as Caz) is a mental health social worker, therapist, entrepreneur and mum with a passion for writing.

With a zest for travel and adventure, Caz spent many years travelling and living in different places, including Edinburgh and Australia, before settling in London with her partner and two children Max (10) and Mia (7).

In her spare time, Caz might be found by the sea, at a festival or staying in a hut or treehouse in the middle of nowhere, on her quest for a more simple life amongst nature. She also has an unusual obsession with beach huts and hopes to retire in one, to spend her days writing stories inspired by the sound of the ocean and an endless supply of fresh coffee.

Caz previously established two writing-related ventures: Write as Rain, a counselling service focusing on the therapeutic benefits of writing; and Young Authors, to encourage creativity and story-writing in children.

Caz loves nothing more than to read with her children, now aged seven and ten, and to learn what draws them to particular stories. Having always had a fascination with lucid dreaming, her aim with The Dream Squad was to combine the realities of everyday life with a magical adventure featuring relatable characters. She hopes that she might even be able to make bedtime and sleep an appealing prospect for children, by reminding them that an enchanting dream world awaits…

Max and Mia love The Dream Squad and have read it countless times. Caz hopes that others may enjoy it too.
