Cynthia Siira

I have always loved writing and have written short stories, poetry, song parodies, and several books (unpublished) including a memoir about growing up in Libya. I am a retired high school/middle school teacher with a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Virginia. I have published book reviews in The American School Board Journal and an article in The Virginia Journal of Education.

I enjoyed my career counseling and supporting teens and young adults in their move towards adulthood, enjoying their varied personalities. My work with young people has given me an in-depth look at their social and interpersonal dynamics, and also a unique perspective when creating characters and the worlds they live in.

I also have a keen interest in art, especially textile art, and am pursuing textile art design and exhibiting my work throughout the state.
