George Moakley

George Moakley is an American author. He recently published his first novel, Kraken of Eden, about the discovery and exploration of the first alien world with a complex ecology – and a deadly threat.

George was originally trained as an ecologist, then spent nearly 40 years in the tech industry, working in precious metals exploration, aerospace, and semiconductors, designing IT infrastructure, business systems, designing products, and leading research and development.

He feeds his love of life sciences through photography while hiking and diving, and, now, writing science fiction with a commitment to plausible scenarios.
