Phyllis Anne Smyth

Phyllis Anne Smyth has been involved in animal rescue for over thirty years.

She has worked as a field officer in the West of Ireland for Redwings Horse Rescue & Sanctuary.

For the International League for the Protection of Horses Phyll was hugely instrumental in ending the horrific transportation of live horses for slaughter to the Continent. She has also worked for a number of rescue centres in Ireland. 

When Phyll's brood mare gave birth 6 weeks prematurely she was told, because the lung forms within the last 6 weeks of gestation, it was the most premature foal ever born in Ireland, and was advised by vets to put little 'Georgie' to sleep. 'It won't survive,' they said. 'No way in this world will it survive.' They didn't know Phyll. And after three years of care and attention they all doffed their caps to her and said 'You were right!' And then one dark and stormy winter's night hunters crossed the land firing shotguns, which frightened Georgie so much she bolted into a deep ditch and became trapped up to her haunches in mud. This, alas, was one fight-against-the-odds too many for Georgie.

Sorry but I did not know where to ask this question - I would love to purchase this, but in a book form, not a Kindle version is that possible. I do not nor do I want a Kindle, when I read a book I want to hold it in my hand and turn pages, sorry but that is the way I am. Thank you.

If you are looking for a stocking filler for Christmas or want to get a dog lover a book then this is definitely the one for you. Poems that describe mans best friend in the most heartfelt way. Makes you want to go out and get a dog :D
