David C Stewart

David C. Stewart, Jr. is a teacher and motivator for many men struggling

within America's penal system. He's a father with two beautiful daughters and

a wonderful son. His children continue to be key inspirations for

much of his writings.

Besides continuing to educate himself, David has dedicated himself to

helping those who struggle within the paradigm he had struggled to break

free from. He became actively involved with Graterford Lifers Association's

Public Safely Initiative's "Deal-Me-Out" program, where he filled a role of

peer- facilitator, discussing with convicted drug dealers the external and

internal harm of drug dealing, their communities' needs and other available

legal alternatives through entrepreneurship. He peer-facilitated other

programs such as Alternatives to Violence (AVP) and People Against

Recidivism (PAR) where he served as Secretary on its internal Board of

Directors. He also taught Creative Writing to the Graterford population

while he continues to produce his own novels.
