After a brush with the Grim Reaper, at age seven, Richard sat down at his family’s Remington, a typewriter that dwarfed the boy, and started his autobiography. In one form or another, that’s what he’s been writing ever since.
Richard has been a soldier, a chef, and a community organizer. His books, “Sideways through Zion,” and "Yearning for Grace," have been published by the Embajadoras Press, and through the years his poetry has appeared in a number of journals including Dos Gatos Press, La Presa, Floating Bridge Review, and Santa Fe Poetry. He has produced live poetry and music events for the past forty years.
Richard and his wife, Reggie Bardach, live in Seattle, WA.
