Kevin Kruse M.D.

Kevin Kruse M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in the shoulder, elbow, and hand. Dr. Kruse obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from Indiana University. While in college, he played linebacker for the Indiana Hoosiers’ football team and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors. He credits his experience of playing football in high school and college with teaching him valuable life lessons including working as a team, developing discipline, and dealing with failure. His participation in football set the foundation for his work ethic and approach to success.

Dr. Kruse completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Greenville Health System University Medical Center in Greenville, South Carolina, where he trained with the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. Next, he went on to complete a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, before traveling to Lyon, France to complete a four-month fellowship in shoulder surgery at the Centre Orthopedique Santy with world-renowned shoulder surgeon, Gilles Walch. Dr. Kruse believes that the opportunity for him (and his young family) to immerse themselves in French culture and to learn specialized shoulder surgery in another country opened his mind and shaped the surgical practice he manages today more than any other part of his training.

The publisher of several papers on shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery, Dr. Kruse has presented at medical meetings throughout the United States. His research interests include management of rotator cuff tears, shoulder arthroplasty, and the use of ultrasound in the shoulder. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Society for

Surgery of the Hand, (ASSH) and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES).

After relocating to Dallas with his wife Stephanie (a former Indianapolis Colts cheerleader) and his children, Dr. Kruse accepted a job with a busy orthopedic group, where he put his “Dr. Hustle” philosophy into practice. His application of 9 core principles resulted in the establishment of a thriving, successful practice in one of the country’s most competitive environments.

When not working, he enjoys spending time with Stephanie and their three children Livia, Violet, and Kace; cooking; golfing; reading; and weightlifting.
