Hector Patmore studied Theology at the universities of Durham and Oxford and held academic appointments in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, before moving to the KU Leuven, Belgium, where he is currently Associate Professor of Biblical Studies. He has also held visiting fellowships in Strasbourg, Oxford, and Jerusalem. His research focusses on the interpretation and translation of the Bible in Antiquity and the Jewish context from which Christianity emerged. He has a particular interest in the themes of evil and demons. Hector Patmore is also an Anglican priest.
