Ellen Johnson Varughese

Ellen Johnson Varughese is a native of beautiful Santa Barbara County on California’s Central Coast. She received her BA in Anthropology from Fresno State University and her MA in Linguistics from San Diego State University.

Before her marriage, she served the Lord on two mission fields, Denmark and Japan -- and also worked as a software engineer on the Space Shuttle at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

When she married N.J. Varughese, an evangelist from India, she began serving in India, a mission which continues to this day.

N.J. and Ellen currently operate two non-profit corporations serving India, All India Mission and Health for India, from their headquarters in Olathe, KS.

Ellen is also the author of a book for Christian singles entitled The Freedom to Marry which she published in 1992. The old version is available on this website at a deep discount but will be revised soon under a new title.
