CHRIS FITZPATRICK

I retired to rural France 12 years ago and began to write; my first book about George and his predecessors (cats) was a short autobiography seen through their eyes; then there was a gap through illness before "Suzannah", my first real novel and then my latest "Kinderborn". I am not Jewish, I had to look up lots of information but I really felt I had to write these stories linked to the War and Holocaust. I was born in London after the War and lived there, working in the City until ill-health forced me into early retirement. Now I am glad it did. I still have cats, a husband, a daughter and a beautiful old stone barn conversion (small!) which is my home. Writing makes me feel good and years of typing means I think almost through my fingers now. I self-publish because I don't have enough time to wait for rejection or be discovered. I want to see my work and have someone read it and enjoy it. I was convinced I could write funny chick-lit but if you read my work you will see I haven't achieved that.....yet! Maybe my next book.....
