Mike Donovan

Mike Donovan is an award-winning writer of 40 years experience who has authorised a clutch of largely authorised sports books. Danny Blanchflower: A Glorious Life is his latest. It is about Tottenham Hotspur's most successful captain, rated their greatest player. A raconteur who stood for entertainment, fair play and glory. Voted in a world X1 after skippering Northern Ireland to the World Cup quarter-finals. Mike wrote Glory, Glory Lane, an illustrated history of Spurs' most famous ground. His favourite book is The Jimmy Greaves We Knew. Subjects of his many other Tottenham Hotspur-related books include other playing legends Dave Mackay, Alan Gilzean, Terry Dyson and Darren Anderton. Written tomes on Manchester United, Chelsea and QPR, plus tennis’ Andy Murray. A former Sports Editor, he has been a national tennis and boxing correspondent. Has promoted disability, women's and minority sports. Campaigned for better sports facilities. Crossed paths with the likes of Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Roger Federer, Fred Perry, Steve Redgrave and George Best. Worked on the ground-breaking Today newspaper, which introduced British newspapers to electronic production and has contributed to a variety of newspapers, magazines and social media.
