Geoff Newman

Geoff retired from the world of aviation after spending 50 years as a helicopter pilot and flight instructor. After service in the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy he then flew in a large number of civilian operations around the world and also worked as a consultant for a London based Aviation Consultancy. He flew offshore oil support helicopters and those involved with Search and Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, Police, Corporate and VIP activities. His notable achievement was the conception, design and operation of the UK's first dedicated Air Ambulance operation in Cornwall. This is commemorated in his book 'Genesis of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Service'. Geoff's novels centre on a character by the name of Jack Mawgan. Jack was a highly successful detective based in Cornwall. For reasons explained in the first book, 'For The Price of a Hat', Jack leaves the police force to become a paramedic and thus begins a series of tales in which Jack the paramedic becomes involved in upholding justice which necessarily involves him falling back on his detective skills. Exciting adventures follow and these are chronicled in the four subsequent novels, 'Render Unto Caesar', 'The Mark', 'The One Romanian,' and, just published, 'Island Lines'. The latest book is story about an attempt by the Russians to destabilise Europe by sponsoring the large scale importation of drugs through the remote Isles of Scilly.
