Paula Shue Winfrey

Paula Shue Winfrey has dreamed of writing and publishing a book since she was a young child. It took a lifetime of beautiful distractions to make that dream come true. Experiences from travel, raising a family and loving her career as an elementary classroom teacher for 22 years, made the journey even sweeter. Her first published non-fiction book, Because We Stayed Home, began as an encouraging message of hope she wished to share with her students during the early days of the Coronavirus pandemic. However, it speaks to us all as we seek calm during the proverbial storm.

Paula's second published book, Adventures of the Bubble Kids - Book One: Montgomery, Alabama began as an idea nearly 30 years ago. During summer breaks from teaching, she would pick up where she left off and revise the fictional tale endlessly. It wasn't until after retirement in 2019 that time became a friend and the book was officially completed. She hopes this early grade chapter book series with a historical theme finds its way into classrooms everywhere and ignites a joy for reading and writing in the hearts of students.

Coming soon is a delightful picture book titled, Freckleface and Tuffy, based on Paula's childhood antics with her younger sister. Also coming soon is the second in her chapter book series titled, Adventures of the Bubble Kids - Book Two: Juneau, Alaska.

She is thrilled to become a published author at the age of 60 and looks forward to becoming the Grandma Moses of children's books.
