"My first (and only so far) book, "Diabetes? Wow" came about when my son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, I felt so overwhelmed by all the information I had to learn in a short time. I wanted to give my son a simpler introduction to all the things he would soon need to know. So I thought we would just go order a book for him. There must be thousands of them out there, right? Well, maybe not. There seemed to be any number of books with LOTS of pages full of words. But what thirteen-year-old wants to be presented with that book? And there are some great diabetes storybooks for children. I would have feared for my life if I tried to read one of those to my teenager. But that perfect book with lots of pictures and lots of information, but not TOO much information, seemed elusive. With time on my hands … thanks to COVID-19 … I decided to solve my own dilemma."
