British Nigerian, Stella Oni, is the author of debut crime fiction DEADLY SACRIFICE, a police procedural published by Jacaranda Books as part of their #Twentyin2020 series in September 2020.
Deadly Sacrifice was shortlisted for the SI Leeds Literary Prize in 2016 and was Audible’s Crime Thriller of the month in Sept 2020.
It is a fast paced thriller, set in London and Nigeria and about human trafficking and ritualistic killing.
Stella has a degree in Linguistics and African Languages from the University of Benin and an MSc in Information Systems and Technology from City University, London. She works as a Business Intelligence Analyst.
She is a cake enthusiast and an avid foodie who writes about Food, Culture and Tech on her blog AfricanBritishness and Medium. She is also a contributor to Arianna Huffington’s Thrive Global and other publications. Her dream is to travel around the world to taste and experience food from different cultures. She believes that her experience of growing up within two worlds has given her a unique perspective.
Stella is working on the 2nd in the Toks Ade Mystery series.
Stella is working on a new cosy mystery series THE LONDON HOUSE MYSTERY. Stella describes the lead character, nosy housekeeper Elizabeth Ojo, as “Miss Marples meets Ma Ramotswe” of No 1 Ladies Detective series.
Stella's short story, THE BLACK WIDOW OF OSHOGBO which features character from a new detective series that she is writing, LARA'S INVESTIGATIVE BUREAU, will be published in the crime anthology MIDNIGHT HOUR, featuring 19 Crime Writers of Color to be published in September 2021 by Crooked Lane. Stella describes Lara, the lead character, as a meaner, leaner Ma Ramotswe.
