Fredrick Wayne Klobe

Fredrick "Wayne" Klobe is married and the father of three adult daughters. He holds a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri State University (1978), and a M.A. in Security Management from Webster University (1998). He had a 23-year career with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, 10 years as a uniformed patrol officer in the 3rd District, one of the largest, most culturally diverse, and busiest districts in the City. He made detective and spent the next 13 years in the 3rd District Detective Bureau, the Area 1 Detective Bureau, and the South Patrol Detective Bureau. His long tenure with the police department exposed him to some of the most unbelievable events one could ever imagine. Indirectly, his family was exposed to those same situations as well. Klobe wrote about what life was like during those years in his book titled, "WE TOOK AN OATH: A Personal Account of What it Was Like to Protect and to Serve". He describes in great detail events that were everything from horrific to tragic to unbelievable. Many of the stories are as humorous as they are disturbing. Klobe reveals the human side of police officers by sharing some of the events that took place in his personal life. The book allows readers to experience the emotional toll these events have on police officers and their families.
