Emma L McGeown

Emma L McGeown is an award-winning Irish writer. Previous works include Aurora, Sugar Girl and Before She Was Mine which won a Golden Crown Literary Award in 2024. Her latest novel, Back to Belfast was released in 2024.

Professionally, Emma works in her family's greeting card business. She currently lives in Northern Ireland with her wife and daughter.

In her free time, she has spent much of her 20’s travelling and reading queer fiction, including fanfiction, though she will never voice it out loud. Her main characters are almost always LGBTQ because why not? Positive representation has never been more important and the three-dimensional folks she creates in her writing try to offer a unique voice with heart, flaws and of course humour.
