I published my debut book ‘Sid the Snake and His Many Mates’ in October 2020. It’s a book dedicated to my son Jack, who is three years of old.
Since becoming a mother, I’ve realised the importance of embedding literature into a child’s daily routines. After having the idea for the storyline of ‘Sid the Snake’, I soon had the thought of how lovely it be to have other small children enjoying my tale of a supposedly scary snake that through acts of kindness ends up making lots of mates!
It also send out a clear message that kindness is very powerful!
For me, writing children’s literature is a hobby that brings both a sense of achievement and happiness, especially when I see the smiles on other children’s faces as they read my tales!
I have a successful career in finance and concentrate on making my 3 year old son’s life as fulfilled and happy as it can be. Like so many other mums, I wear many hats/have many roles: a mother, author, finance professional and many, many more!
At the time of publishing ‘Sid the Snake’, my own mother was battling COVID-19 in intensive care, which she fortunately recovered from. My mum is a big believer in the book and it seemed apt to publish it in a time when she herself, was being looked after by our heroic NHS staff, which parallels with Sid the Snake as he saves all the animals in this children’s story.
