Pedro Cruz, Pedro Julio Cruz III in full, was born in Staten Island, NY in 1992 to Lisa Turman and Pedro Julio Cruz II. He was raised in Arlington, Staten Island, the northwesternmost residential neighborhood of the fifth borough. Having graduated from New York University, Polytechnic School of Engineering in 2014, he then progressed into the field of construction, working in both Project Management and Cost Management.
He began to write screenplays in the summer of 2016 after Jordan Peele (Get Out) and Moses Verneau (Money & Violence) inadvertently instilled in him the possibility of film being an outlet for his welling creativity. After a failed attempt at a directorial venture in the winter of 2017, he spent months mulling over the disappointing ordeal when literature presented itself in his mind as a suitable alternative.
Through literature his pen will serve as a conduit for creativity, from written word to animation to motion pictures and art as a whole.
