Rosemary Lee grew up in an age when travel was often limited to holidays in another part of Britain or at best a week on a Spanish sunshine beach, but her imagination was sparked early in life by books and TV programmes revealing the fascinating world we live in. She studied German and Dutch at London University, then started a 25-year career as a tour manager, escorting coach tours around Europe. In the long winter season, there was ample time to travel to unusual and out-of-the-way places, each visit making her hunger for more. She moved on to teach tourism at Sheffield and North Devon Colleges, this time using the college vacations to continue her travels. Now retired, she still travels extensively - her current tally is over 70 different countries and she intends to keep travelling as long her health and strength permit!
