I received my first rejection as an author at age 11. I was reading one of the "Little House" books and decided that I could write a story like that. So I did. I got the address for Harper and Row out of the book, put my story in an envelope and had my mom mail it. After a month or so I received a letter from them thanking me, but they we're interested right then. Didn't stop me though.

I live in Texas, really do rope and run barrels and have a herd of grandkids.
