Anna Kirkpatrick

Unheralded author Anna Kirkpatrick was born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Boise, Idaho, with her four brothers and three sisters.. After graduating from Boise High in 1969, she attended Boise State University until her marriage to William Kirkpatrick in 1971. The following year they moved to Oregon. At the age of twenty-four, Anna (along with her husband) owned and operated her first business, the Lindberg Grocery and Gas Station in Rainier, Oregon. Twelve years passed, and Anna relocated back to Idaho and became a successful restaurant and motel owner of the defunct Ponderosa Restaurant and Motel at Lower Banks, Idaho about forty miles north of Boise on the unforgiving Highway 55.

While navigating through her adulthood as an entrepreneur and hopscotching from Idaho and Oregon, Anna raised a son and daughter and now dotes over her four grandchildren. She recently helped her daughter and son-in-law open a café in the rural community of Colton, Oregon, approximately thirty-five miles southeast of Portland, Oregon.

Over the years, Anna found pleasure in writing poems about family and enduring times. Anna is currently retired and living in Beavercreek, Oregon during the summer months and then soaking up the warmth of Kona, Hawaii during the winter months. Anna continues to pursue her passion...writing about her real-life experiences.
