Diganta Bhusan Das

Professor Diganta Bhusan Das is an internationally recognised engineering researcher, educator and author with more than 25 years of experience in research, education and innovation. Born into a family of academics in the beautiful state of Assam in North-East India, he has academic experience at Loughborough University and the University of Oxford in the UK, Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, and through research collaborations across Europe, North America and Asia.

His research focuses on engineering solutions for healthcare, water, energy, sustainability and the environment. His expertise includes porous materials, fluid flow, mass transport, computational modelling, intelligent materials, digital engineering and AI-enabled engineering.

Professor Das has attracted approximately 14 million pounds in research funding and has supervised 25 doctoral researchers and numerous postdoctoral, postgraduate and undergraduate researchers. He has more than 23 years of university teaching experience and has authored over 175 peer-reviewed publications and several research-informed and edited books.

International collaboration has been a defining feature of his career. He has developed research and educational partnerships across Europe, North America and Asia and has held leadership roles in research organisations, doctoral education, scientific journals and international conferences. He is Chair of the InterPore UK Chapter and Vice-Chair of the Assam Forum of Great Britain.
