Britny Virginia is a South London based poet and freelance writer. She was born in St. Lucia, raised in the United States, and migrated to England nearly 10 years ago. Her writing is greatly influenced by these three cultures, namely her St. Lucian heritage. Britny enjoys playing with the assimilation, deconstruction and form of language and words and how this reflects motion, which also reflects her life as someone living with a type of Cerebral Palsy called Spastic Diplegia. This affects her motor functions through the tightness of her muscles. Her writing often addresses the ups and downs of living with a disability and how she finds strength through her relationship with God. Britny is passionate about storytelling and using storytelling as a tool for freedom and breakthrough. She has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Essex and is excited to share her talent with the world. She hopes to bring change one story at a time.
