Dr. Johann Weiss is an internist and specialist in oncology and haematology with over 40 years of experience in the treatment of serious diseases. His in-depth training began in 1978 at the Bad Oeynhausen Diabetes Clinic, followed by specializations in cardiology and oncology at the Hannover Medical School. Study visits to the Genetic Institute of the University of Helsinki and the European Tumor Center in Milan expanded his knowledge in internationally recognized research institutions. This was reflected in around 30 scientific publications.
As head of a specialist oncology practice, Dr. Weiss treated “twice as many cancer patients” as the average Bavarian oncologist at the turn of the millennium. This led to nationwide attention because the AOK demanded 2 million euros in compensation (e.g. Bayerischer Rundfunk, Magazin quer, 2019). After Dr. Weiss took over the management of the Department of Oncology and Gastroenterology at the Bayerwaldklinik in 2018, it was included in the Focus list of the best rehabilitation clinics in Germany. Since 2020, he has been treating addicts at MVZ Dr. Boniakowski in Regensburg and was able to identify metabolic parallels between drug addiction and obesity.
The author has in-depth expertise in cancer and metabolic diseases. Through his many years of research and practice, he has developed a sound understanding of how nutrition can contribute significantly to the prevention and treatment of the most common diseases. In particular, his findings on the development of cancer through over- and undernutrition are convincing.
