Shun Pittman

Shun Pittman has spent more than twenty-five years in the beauty industry. She is the owner and founder of Corps d’Elite Salon, a luxury boutique salon and makeup studio designed to accommodate all hair types and textures and all skin shades and tones in Washington, DC. Her love for this industry is the intrinsic reward she receives by making people feel good. “I am in the feel-good business,” she says.

She was heavily influenced by her three grandmothers. One in particular, Lucile Coleman, was known for turning the women of her church into makeup-wearing parishioners by proclaiming, “I don’t take out my trash without my lipstick on.”

Shun has traveled the globe for the world’s largest salon chain, training, coaching, and mentoring beauty professionals. She has worked and trained with companies including L’Oréal, Wella, Matrix, Paul Mitchell, Redken, Big Sexy Hair, and Toni & Guy to name a few. Her makeup line, Corps d’Elite Beauty, debuted at New York Fashion Week in 2017. She has been featured in The Washingtonian, honored for International Women’s Day by the Washington Post, and featured on The Cheddar Network and a host of other national and local media outlets. She currently contributes to WJLA Good Morning Washington’s Beauty and Fashion Police segments. She donates time and services to nonprofit organizations that help domestic violence survivors. Shun enjoys cooking gourmet dishes, dancing, fashion, sports cars, and travel.
