Born in a family of seamstresses, embroiderers, and crocheters. Marcia never imagined that she would go through so many different paths before entering the art world and being the precursor to spread Free-motion Quilting in Brazil.
Her quilting story started when she left her job as a Systems Analyst where she worked for 25 years. It was in a hard phase of her life that she discovered quilting, and was it that brought joy into her life again.
Her career as a Quilter began in 2008 in Brazil. Today, she has published books about quilting in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, has developed quilting tools, teaches quilting techniques in countries in Latin America and the United States, and continues receiving national and international awards for her quilts.
For Marcia, Quilting represents a way to express emotions and can be used as an efficient healing therapy besides being a wonderful artistic activity.
