My mission is to remind us of who we are as Americans — of the founding principles of this great nation, and of the faith and virtues required in a people who mean to retain them.

That mission began with a debate around my kitchen table in Woodstock, Georgia. My sons and I were arguing about the state of America, and I kept reaching for books — this one for the Constitution, that one for the Bill of Rights, another for the Founders’ views on tyranny. It occurred to me that what every American needed — what I needed — was a single source. The Founders’ own words, compiled and woven into a narrative that spoke directly to the moment we are in.

What started as a passion project became a two-year immersion. I scoured thousands of texts — letters, speeches, sermons, congressional records — and was often brought to tears by the power and truth in their words. The Founders lived at a time when freedom of speech was threatened, when power-hungry tyrants sought to destroy their liberties, when the fruits of a man’s labor were under siege, and when law was corrupted to serve the few rather than the many.
