Tracey Greene-Washington

Tracey Greene-Washington is the President of Indigo Innovation Group, a consulting firm dedicated to partnering with leaders and organizations to accelerate transformational change through strategy, leadership development, and systems-level approaches. As a strategic thought partner, advisor, facilitator, strategist, coach, and speaker, Tracey brings more than twenty-five years of experience guiding philanthropic, nonprofit, and business leaders through complex change. Her work helps leaders and teams strengthen culture, build alignment, and lead with purpose during times of transition and growth.

At Indigo Innovation Group, Tracey helps leaders move from awareness to action, bridging the gap between vision and execution. Her approach integrates the disciplines of change leadership, organizational development, change management, and futurism, helping organizations navigate complexity and achieve sustainable impact with clarity. Her approach is rooted in purposeful alignment, ensuring that strategy, people, and culture work in concert toward lasting impact.

Before founding Indigo Innovation Group, Tracey held several distinguished leadership roles in philanthropy, nonprofits, and community development. She served as Director of Special Initiatives for the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, where she led two long-term, place-based initiatives: Healthy Places NC, focused on improving health outcomes in rural counties, and Great Expectations, an early childhood initiative in Forsyth County. Prior to this, she was a Program Officer at the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, leading statewide efforts to address the wealth gaps. Earlier in her career, she served as Program Officer and Director of Learning & Evaluation for the National Rural Funders Collaborative, advancing rural community transformation nationwide, and as Director of Technical Assistance, Training & Policy for the South Carolina Association of Community Development Corporations, supporting forty-five CDCs across the state in building local capacity and sustainable development.

Beyond her consulting and coaching work, Tracey is the Founder of CoThinkk, a social change philanthropy committed to advancing economic mobility, education, health, and leadership among communities of color in Western North Carolina. Through strategic investments, network-building, and civic dialogue, CoThinkk has become a model for community-led philanthropy and systems change.

Tracey is also a social entrepreneur and co-owner, with her husband, of No Grease Northlake and No Grease Premium, two businesses that combine enterprise with economic impact. In addition, she serves as Co-CEO of Razored Technologies, alongside her husband Edmund Washington, the CEO, an emerging company focused on technology solutions that drive innovation across the grooming industry. Across all of her ventures, Tracey’s work centers on equipping game-changing leaders to operate with intentionality and boldness in pursuit of their mission.

An award-winning author and speaker, Tracey’s first book, Choosing Purposeful Alignment: The Messy Middle of Transformation, received the Nautilus Book Award and achieved international bestseller status. In her widely viewed TEDx Talk, “Addressing Complex Social Change—What If?”, she challenges audiences to reimagine how they approach change by embracing complexity as a catalyst for innovation and growth.

Over her career, Tracey has been recognized nationally for her leadership and social impact. Her honors include the 2024 Black Women Give Back Award, 2023 KNOW 100 Women to Know Across America, 2022 Institute for Coaching Innovation Award, 2021 Rosa Parks Award, and 2020 Linetta Gilbert Service Award from the Community Investment Network, among others.

Tracey has also served in multiple leadership and governance roles, including Board Chair of EducationNC and The Center for Leadership Innovation, as well as board positions with the Southern Rural Development Initiative, NC Center for Public Policy Research, and the NC Early Childhood Foundation.

Tracey grew up in Asheville, North Carolina and continues to ground her work in, community, and purpose—partnering with leaders nationwide to catalyze change, foster alignment, and build the next generation of game-changing leadership. She is guided by a singular purpose: to help others lead with courage, clarity, and purposeful alignment to become the game changers their communities and organizations need most.
