John S. Oldfield

John Oldfield was born and grew up in Oak Park, IL; is a graduate of the College of Wooster (B.A.) and Denver Seminary (M.Div.); was a pastor in rural Levant, KS, for 7 years; and was a pastor in urban and then suburban York, PA for over 34 years. He served as a preacher, teacher, counselor, Bible-study leader, small-group coordinator, coffee-house manager, television and radio broadcaster, event organizer, street minister, prison visitor, police chaplain, evangelical spokesperson, and short-term missionary. In retirement, he and his wife Dagmar lived for 11 years in metro-Phoenix, AZ, where she died on December 29, 2019. They were married for 53½ years and have 4 adult children, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. Now residing back in York, John still likes bike-riding, peppermint-stick ice cream, and TV cop shows. His main passion, however, is to exalt his Lord, Jesus Christ, and to contribute toward the expansion of His kingdom throughout the earth. In that connection, he has desk-top published some 50 leaflets and professionally published three books--with at least 1 or 2 more in the pipeline. Besides writing, he now serves as Chaplain for the Country Meadows Retirement Community of York (West Campus), a 2-minute drive from his condo.
