As an experienced teacher with two decades of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, I have witnessed the transformative power of reading. Students often approach me seeking graded readers that align with their language proficiency levels. Their desire to read more widely and extensively inspired me to embark on a mission to curate captivating stories across various themes.

The result? This comprehensive series of Chinese graded readers, meticulously tailored to match each HSK proficiency levels. Each story has been thoughtfully rewritten, with only small amount of new words, which are noted with English, ensuring that readers won’t be bogged down by too many unfamiliar vocabulary or the need to constantly consult dictionaries. After all, nothing dampens the joy of reading more than an overabundance of unknown words.

The magic lies in the captivating narratives. Each story aims to kindle curiosity, evoke emotions, and transport readers into different worlds. Whether it’s an ancient legend, a contemporary drama, or a heartwarming slice of life, my goal is to keep you immersed and eager to turn the next page.

Remember, language acquisition isn’t just about memorizing words; it’s about experiencing language in context. So, dive into these tales, explore new horizons, and let the characters guide you through their adventures. And fear not—there’s no need to interrupt your reading flow to decipher complex terms. Instead, focus on the plot twists, the character development, and the sheer joy of storytelling.
