Luis Figueroa

Luis Figueroa (1980) was born in Chalchuapa, Santa Ana, El Salvador, grew up in El Salvador, and immigrated to the United States of America in 2006, and moved to Jalisco, Mexico in 2019.

He studied mechanical engineering in El Salvador. After moving to USA, he learned English in New Jersey and started to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) a year after his arrival.

Luis studied graphic design too, and worked full time for about twelve years a a designer and as a bilingual English teacher. During his time in college, he discovered his passion for writing and for English literature.

His first book, "The Visitant", is an illustrated children's book he wrote and illustrated for his six year old daughter, Abigail; since she was starting to read and write at school, he took care of this task by teaching her using his writing and illustrating skills.

He currently lives and works in Jalisco, Mexico with his wife and three kids.

Luis Figueroa (1980) nació en Chalchuapa, Santa Ana, El Salvador, creció en El Salvador y emigró a los Estados Unidos de América en 2006, y se mudó a Jalisco, México en 2019.

Estudió ingeniería mecánica en El Salvador y, al llegar a Estados Unidos, aprendió Inglés y comenzó a enseñar Inglés como Segunda Lengua (ESL) en Lakewood, New Jersey.

Luis estudió diseño gráfico también y trabajó tiempo completo como diseñador y como maestro bilingüe de Inglés por unos doce años. Durante su etapa en el college, descubrió su amor por la escritura y por la literatura inglesa.

Su primer libro, “El Misterio Del Extraño Visitante”, es un libro ilustrado para niños el cual escribió para su hija de seis años, Abigail, ya que ella comenzaba a leer y a escribir. Se hizo cargo de enseñarle personalmente, combinando sus conocimientos en literatura y en diseño gráfico.

Luis vive actualmente en Jalisco, México, junto a su esposa y sus tres hijos.
