Nohra Bernal

I was born and grew up in Colombia, studied in France for a while, and now live in the United States. I love languages, dance, books, and nature. For me, learning is one of the great privileges and pleasures of life, and writing my natural response to it.

I believe children deserve the best books as nourishment for their souls, and I have strived to surround my three sons and myself with them throughout the years.

I have been a lecturer, tutor, NGO project manager, au pair, homeschooler, immigrant, volunteer, literacy promoter, counselor, gardener, chicken lady, and now indie author. For more than two decades I have worked translating books.

I live with my family in Connecticut near the shore, where we enjoy many sunsets.

Nací y crecí en Colombia, estudié en Francia por un tiempo y ahora vivo en los Estados Unidos. Me encantan los idiomas, la danza, los libros y la naturaleza, y creo que aprender es uno de los grandes privilegios y placeres de la vida, y escribir mi respuesta natural a ella. También, que los niños merecen el mejor alimento para el alma en forma de libros excelentes, que siempre he procurado poner al alcance de mis tres hijos.

He sido docente, directora de proyectos de ONG, au pair, educadora en casa, inmigrante, voluntaria, promotora de lectura, consejera y cuidadora de gallinas, y ahora autora independiente. Durante dos décadas he traducido y editado libros.

Vivo en Connecticut cerca del mar, donde disfruto los atardeceres arrebolados.
