Gregory I. Redfern has been an adjunct professor/instructor of astronomy for different colleges since 1984. As a NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador since 2003, he has shared NASA's missions to the solar system with audiences in person as well as on TV and radio in the Washington D.C. media market and worldwide. He has been the space reporter for WTOP.com-radio since 2006. Greg's daily Internet astronomy blog, "Whats Up?: The Space Place", has had over 3.3 million views from around the world.
A sought after cruise ship lecturer on astronomy and space Greg has presented to thousands of seagoing guests on nine different cruise lines and completed 35 voyages to date totaling over 543 days and NIGHTS at sea. On clear and weather permitting nights, guests joined Greg on a darkened deck to stand in awe under star filled skies in the seas and oceans of the world.
When not at sea, for the past seven years Greg has provided NASA and astronomy presentations at Shenandoah National Park for thousands of Park visitors from around the world. These guests were also treated to time under the Park's beautiful skies on clear nights.
Greg has been observing and photographing the sky for over five decades and collecting meteorites for years. He's used telescopes of all kinds and visited observatories, NASA facilities, and geological sites. As a result, Greg has brought the wonder, beauty and excitement of our universe to audiences for decades in a one-on-one style that resonates with his passion and knowledge.
