Mike Bell

As a science teacher in a secondary school in the UK, I became interested in the evidence about 'what works and why' in education.

My first book, 'The Fundamentals of Teaching', is an attempt to break through the complexity teachers find when wanting to be more effective, and to present only evidence that several sources agree is effective.

My second book, 'Yes he can', is based on the testimony of six school leaders who have closed the attainment gap in their boys at British secondary schools. Their advice is applicable anywhere.

Both books set a high standard for the evidence they contain; neither is simply 'my opinion'.
