L. A. Rivera Colón

Luis Alberto Rivera Colón is the son of a Puerto Rican migrant worker and a talented entrepreneurial mother. From shoeshine boy to civil rights activist to well-known newscaster in Hollywood, Rivera also succeeded as an educator and public speaker.

Though retired, he continues his involvement in civic and Hispanic community leadership and faith-based service organizations. He lives in Virginia with his wife of over 50 years. They have three sons and numerous grandchildren, including great-grandchildren. His latest project is author of his published memoir, LIVING BETWEEN CULTURES: FROM BORINQUEN TO HOLLYWOOD.
