Arthur Jay Marcus

Arthur Marcus is an Architect, Photographer and Historic Preservationist living and maintaining his architectural studio in South Florida since 1992. A native of Philadelphia, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University and a Master of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Arthur is also a self taught photographer specializing in abstracted views of the built environment. His lifelong passions, architecture and photography, have informed each other over the course and geography of his career.

At Central High in Philadelphia, an inspiring English Professor would initially have the class write a one page story. Then the class would summarize that page into a single paragraph. And then that assignment was to summarize the paragraph into a single sentence. And finally that sentence would be summarized into a single word. This exemplifies what Arthur

strives towards in his photography.
