Paula Petry PhD

Dr. Paula Petry’s passion to help women discover their own path, inner strength, and truth began 35 years ago with the birth of her daughter, Alexandra; born with a developmental disability. The lack of adequate healthcare and skilled providers convinced Paula to pave a new path not only for her daughter but for many others; Paula formed what is now one of the strongest community-based parent advocacy organizations in the country.

She went on to bring her knowledge and dedication to family empowerment to her faculty position at a renowned medical school — for over a decade developing and teaching curricula that helped prepare pediatricians and other disciplines to work with parents and their children with special health care needs.

Alexandra's death at age twelve brought great loss, suffering, as well as a spiritual awakening. On her journey to healing, Paula studied energy medicine, sound healing, and expressive arts which she now blends together for women in retreats, on-line courses, and individual shamanic energy medicine sessions.

Awakening to one's own divinity and truth is central to her Medicine Wheel & Me™ curriculum that she licenses to elementary and middle schools.

Paula resides in Upstate, NY; she is a co-owner of the Light of Heart Sanctuary located in Sharon Springs, NY.
