Mike Tamblin

Hello.

I'm Mike Tamblin and my first novel "Differences" was first published on the third of September 2020 and was reissued in 2024.

The Truth Will Out is now available, in paperback and Kindle. I hope you enjoy it as much as readers appear to. It is a stand alone story that involves the family from Differences but has references to them and their issues. Though it is encouraged that you use your own imagination to create the story before The Truth Will Out, if you haven't already read Differences, the original is still available and could be purchased before, or even after The Truth Will Out. I am already working on book three, which will definitely be a sequel, the final of the trilogy.

Now, I'm going to come clean. To be perfectly honest, I'm not that good an author. My grammar is suspect and my formatting is...well, grim. However, I am a good story teller. Ok, I'm not going to win any prizes or awards, as my wording is not exactly prose. Instead, it is down to earth writing. So far, readers have enjoyed my tales. Differences attracted at rating of 4.6, with some amazing written tributes. Few foresaw the ending and were taken by surprise by it but it did tie up the early lose ends, that were deliberately set up.

Then, along came The Truth Will Out. After paying agents to enlist Differences onto the self publishing system, I noticed that the book still got accepted, despite the numerous grammatical errors, the spelling mistakes and some formatting errors, which also said a lot about the policing of quality within Amazons' own rules. So I decided to do all of it myself. How hard could it be? Lets just say, that in formatting, agents do merit payment. I have found and still find it hard to get it right. Probably because I'm next to useless on a computer. Again, despite my agonisingly bad formatting, Amazon has still accepted my book and I do actually thank them for this, as although sales are low, the rating is still 4.6. Readers enjoy a good story and that's what my books are, they are pacey and intriguing too. So thank you Amazon, for letting the likes of me out on the public. Now, I just need to afford the astronomic prices of marketing. Maybe Santa will help.

To end, I have to say that the traditional publishing houses must broaden their horizons. Times have changed and, although their will always be a market for real quality story telling, by authors who have an incredible mastery of the English language and can pour out sentences with the grace of a ballet dancer or the might of a nuclear weapon, that type of reader is thinning out. My errors are barely noticed, because readers get into my stories that are well built and structured. But, because I am educationally challenged and cannot correctly word a submission letter, or synopsis, I am never going to be accepted by any one of them. Like many other authors that tell good stories, our only route for publication is via so called vanity publishing. Who are they calling vain? Are they suggesting that these authors are so vain that they are willing to pay to get published, just because the establishment won't publish them? There are rogue publishers out there and we have to tread lightly but, for us, their is no other way. If we didn't have this route, we would have nothing and thousands of wonderful stories, across all genres would not be told and readers would have to carry on, ignorant of the quality that is out there because they are dictated to by the mainstream publishers that decide what should or shouldn't be read.

Thank you for what you do, Amazon, on behalf of me and. likely as not, many other quality but basic authors.
