Henrik Schatzinger

Henrik Schatzinger is a political scientist who studies campaign finance, interest groups, and the consequences of outside spending for American democracy. He co-authored Game Changers: How Super PACs and Dark Money are Transforming U.S. Campaigns and is completing Super PACs in the City (Fall 2026), a book on how independent expenditures are reshaping mayoral, city council, and school board races.

He is Professor and Chair of Political Science at Ripon College and Director of the Center for Politics and the People. He has organized more than 120 public events to foster informed debate, and he regularly comments on elections and political money in the media. He also speaks to civic, academic, and professional audiences on American politics, campaign finance, and political strategy. He earned degrees from the University of Kiel, the University of Kansas, and the University of Georgia.
