Henrik Schatzinger

Henrik Schatzinger is a political scientist and author whose work examines money, organized interests, political power, and the relationship between organizations and government in American politics. He is the co-author of Game Changers: How Super PACs and Dark Money Are Transforming U.S. Campaigns and the author of Super PACs in the City: How Outside Money Is Reshaping Local Elections (Cambridge University Press, 2026).

Schatzinger is Professor and Chair of Political Science at Ripon College. His current research examines how businesses and other organizations navigate fragmented political authority and changing centers of government power. He previously directed Ripon College’s Center for Politics and the People, where he organized more than 120 public events bringing political leaders, journalists, scholars, and citizens into conversation.

He is a frequent media commentator on American politics, elections, and campaign finance, and speaks to academic, civic, and professional audiences on political strategy and the changing landscape of American power. He earned degrees from the University of Kiel, the University of Kansas, and the University of Georgia.
