Kaila H. Johnson

Kaila H. Johnson is an author and freelance writer, working with brands and charities by writing stories and engaging copy of culture, justice, relationships, health, and well-being. She is the Communications Officer for Luminary Bakery, an award-winning social enterprise bakery, and a main contributor for Iridescent Women, an online community committed to awakening the brilliance in others.

Kaila's debut book is Rising Hope: Inspiring life stories and recipes from Luminary Bakery, which invites you behind the scenes, to learn their treasured recipes and hear the inspiring life stories from the women they work with who have experienced extreme disadvantage. Kaila spent time interviewing these remarkable women about their lives and hearing the narrative and inspiration behind each of their recipe contributions. They were then collated and written by Kaila after working closely with each contributor to ensure their stories in the book were a true representation of their challenging journey and courageous pursuit of a better life. These are truly stories of rising hope.
