Lisa Marks

Hello, Lisa here. I began my writing career as a wannabe Lois Lane on an evening newspaper at the tender age of 18. I went on to freelance for teen mags, then women's and TV mags, which was fun (it was the nineties, say no more). Then lots of other stuff happened. I'm old, you can't expect me to list it all here (but you can read the book) and in 2007 I relocated to Los Angeles to cover the entertainment scene, for the Guardian and other international outlets. Since publication, my celebrity journalism memoir 'Ryan is Ready for you Now...' has been added to a few university libraries which is a huge honour. I now love doing guest lectures, particularly shaping young minds and waving my glasses around to emphasise a point. More recently, getting Jeannie Miller out into the world has been a big deal but in a completely different way to Ryan. Scriptwriting is a passion but trying to get a movie made is tricky, although I've made shorts and been a finalist in a few festivals. My thinking with Jeannie is that if you never get to see it on the screen you may as well read it and enjoy it that way. Ultimately, both Ryan and Jeannie are like family to me so you'd better be good to them. Thank you for coming to my Amazon bio talk.
