David S. Lewis

As a Vietnam Veteran, David Lewis, along with co-author Dana Welch, have both an eBook and a physical version of the novel "Under Another Sun." This book is available on Amazon. This novel traces both the friendship of two dissimilar American solders during about 60 days in 1969. This books culminates on the first day of the battle for Dong Ap Bia, Hamburger Hill.

Pictured here is the cover of a second Vietnam-series novel, "Welcome Home" now available on Amazon. Welcome home is the greeting one Vietnam Veteran gives to another. When servicemen returned from the Vietnam War they were spurned by much of American society. It became a rueful reminder of that unjust treatment of civic isolation. This new book will follow the protagonist of the first book, "Under Another Sun," Tom Grey. It follows him as he returns home to the U.S. on a "Freedom Bird," and his adventures trying to get a job as a reporter for a major daily newspaper in Los Angeles. The story is about young love, a new red MGA, ethnic gangs, Mexican food--new to a Midwesterner, love and mystery. So far the book is an exciting mix PTSD, murder and intrigue.

“Saigon Nights: The Elephant in the Room” was recently released. This tale follows Tom Grey as he returns to war-torn Vietnam in search of an international drug smuggling and human trafficking operation. Grey follows leads in the U.S., Vietnam, and back again culminating in a gunfight. It is a world during the 1970s without cell phones or the Internet, and one in which nearly everyone smokes.

Lewis is an accomplished artist with many paintings in the Army Art Collection, the Smithsonian's Military War Art Collection, and numerous private collections. His work has been published in several US Army historical books.

David Lewis is a successful author, artist and advertising executive. The sequel to "Under Another Sun" is in the works. It is titled "Welcome Home: A Post Vietnam War Novel."
