Kim Rekowski is a dedicated elementary teacher who lives in Oconomowoc, WI with her husband and two children. She and her daughter, Maddie, love to draw, paint, and write.
Kim wrote and illustrated “When You Want to Give Up.” “When You Want to Give Up” is a colorful picture book which offers children ages 3 and up strategies to help them persevere through challenges. This rhyming book shares inspiration for children to show grit using illustrations of whimsical animals in a variety of situations. "When you want to give up, take a break like a bear. "Gritty the Goat" is Kim's third children's book that she wrote and illustrated. "Gritty the Goat" teaches kids ages 4-10 about what it means to have grit. It’s Gritty's first day of school and he is very nervous. Grandpa Goat, offers him some wise advice that helps Gritty persevere throughout the school day. “I have grit! I don’t quit!” Gritty helps remind kids that even though things can be challenging, you can get through them and gain confidence.
"Gritty Grows a Garden" is Kim's second book in her Gritty the Goat series. Gritty wants to grow a garden with the help of Grandpa Goat. He learns that it takes healthy habits to grow his garden and he discovers a surprise at the end of the summer!
Kim’s newest book, “Gabby the Goat’s Best Friend,” helps elementary aged kids navigate friendships and find love within themself.
