Rodney S Jones

Born to a sixteen year old single mother on the South Side of Chicago, it was inevitable that struggle would be the cornerstone of Rodney’s life and “underdog” his moniker. Growing up in a military household in Killeen/Ft. Hood, TX supplied a strong sense of discipline causing Rodney to beat typical statistics for young men like him. With help from a loving set of choir teachers, Richard and Martha Surface, Rodney developed an affinity for the fine arts and was nurtured in the area of singing classical music.

After graduating from Killeen High School, he went on to study vocal performance at The University of Texas. While in college he voluntarily assumed full legal custody of his two younger sisters and made the decision to forego earning his college degree. This was the birth of the skill-set he has trademarked- Corporate Swagger™.

After experiencing a level of success in sales management and spending two decades as a licensed financial professional, Rodney found his “why.” With him, it’s all about empowering the underdog to compete on a stage they’re statistically not qualified to be on- and win! Whether it’s: speaking to large crowds, coaching college students and young professionals, upholding the values of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., mentoring with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America ,traversing a Spartan obstacle course, singing in the Houston Symphony Chorus, or writing his first book, that’s his only objective. If there’s anyone who can show you how to level the playing field in your field of work, and more times than not, tilt it in your favor, it’s Rodney S. Jones.
