Judy Cho, BCHN, is a functional medicine practitioner, board-certified holistic nutritionist, bestselling author, and founder of Empower Functional Health, a clinical practice supporting people with chronic illness.
Her work began after her own health decline following more than a decade on a plant-based diet. After shifting to a carnivore elimination protocol, her physical and mental health changed dramatically, redirecting the course of her life and ultimately her work.
Today, Judy’s approach extends beyond carnivore nutrition into a root-cause framework that considers food, gut health, chronic inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, environmental illness, nervous system regulation, and the many interconnected factors that can keep the body from healing. Through Empower Functional Health, Judy and her team have supported more than 3,000 clients with complex and chronic health concerns.
Judy is the author of Inflammation Fix, Carnivore Cure, and The Complete Carnivore Diet for Beginners. She is also the creator of Nutrition with Judy, where she shares evidence-based nutrition and health education, and host of the Nutrition with Judy podcast.
Judy holds multiple degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and has continued her education in nutritional therapy, functional medicine, and evidence-based health communication. Her work is grounded in helping people understand the deeper drivers of illness, become informed advocates for their own health, and build a sustainable path toward healing.
At the center of Judy’s work is a simple belief: lasting health requires more than symptom management. Her work focuses on helping people move beyond symptom management, understand the deeper drivers of illness, and become informed advocates for their own health.
