Mastewal E. Ademe is a dedicated advocate for environmental stewardship and sustainable development. With a master’s degree in water resources management and more than 15 years of experience in soil and water conservation, he combines scientific expertise with a deep commitment to transformative change. Mastewal’s leadership in Ethiopia’s water sector includes serving as Head of Water Resources Management, where he spearheaded strategies for sustainable utilization and conservation. He later coordinated the Participatory Small-Scale Irrigation Development Program, ensuring improved access to irrigation and domestic water through community-driven solutions. His outstanding contributions earned him recognition from IFAD for his role in bridging intergenerational knowledge gaps in agricultural water management and from USAID-Ethiopia as a Change Agent, acknowledging his impact on irrigation development and community resilience.
