I'm Lucía Moreno-Velo. This is my pen name.
I'm a gardenless gardener, a proud queer, a peniless author, a bereaved parent, an adoptive mother, a hopeful permaculturist, a syncretic mess, a praying Pagan, a spellcaster, a fortune-teller, a budding theologist, an altarless witch.
I would love to say I am a weaver of words but, honestly, most of the time I chase them around the empty page.
I love the sounds our mouths can make and the magic you get when you put that breath onto paper or screen, off to travel to someone else's brain.
I write for children and adults, about human matters and divine things. I write for pleasure, yours and mine. I write because it is the most efficient form of glamour. I write to send off my thoughts into the world.
In real life, I live in the mountains near Madrid (Spain) with my partner of 25 years, our two teens and two cats.
Online, you can find me at Instagram @willechowithlaughter and Twitter @willechowithla1.
Isn't life grand?
