Bill Wilson

Bill Wilson was a senior vice president for a national paint and industrial chemical company and has been a research fellow for a Fortune 500 company. Before retiring in 2000, Bill made a commitment that he was going to become closer to God. He and his wife, Shirley, reside in Portland, Oregon, where they have lived for the past fifty two years and raised their five children.

Examining how to live life on life’s terms required us to learn how to willfully cooperate with those who are closest to us, which, for Bill, includes God and his wife, Shirley and five children. Bringing the life of his mind and the life of his soul together only required Bill to think through his life with the help of Shirley, who was blessed with a considerate personality and who chose to build her character with willful mercy. When Bill paused to consider how to cooperate with these sterling qualities, he found how to draw closer to Shirley and others. The fruit of willful cooperation inspired him to change his mind and behavior, accepting the loss of selfish control for the 90 percent of things that are not in his sphere of influence, and in that loss, he found the beginning of freedom, and Reflexpower for Automatic Willpower was born.
